Health Information

ALWAYS remember that if your child has the flu keep them home until they are fever free WITHOUT medications for 24 hours. This will help prevent the spread of the flu. Being fever free for 24 hours WITHOUT medication is not only SCHOOL POLICY, it is also a recommendation from the CDC and your PHYSICIAN.  Refer to the Genoa Central Handbook 2025-2026  section 4.34- COMMUNICABLE DISEASES AND PARASITES.

Students must be fever, vomit, and diarrhea free for 24 hours without medications to be readmitted.

EVERYDAY FLU PREVENTION STEPS

What are the top ten carriers of infection agents?

Hands

Handwashing is like a "do-it-yourself" vaccine

It involves five simple and effective steps (Wet, Lather, Scrub, Rinse, Dry) you can take to reduce the spread of diarrheal and respiratory illness so you can stay healthy. Regular handwashing, particularly before and after certain activities, is one of the best ways to remove germs, avoid getting sick, and prevent the spread of germs to others. It's quick, it's simple, and it can keep us all from getting sick.

Handwashing is a win for everyone, except the germs.

FIGHT GERMS. WASH YOUR HANDS
